We are looking for a Strategy Manager to join our Strategy & Innovation function on a permanent basis based at Westwood, Trinity House or Citigen. The position of Strategy Manager will support the development of E.ON's strategy in the UK. In this role, you will lead or play a key role in strategic projects sponsored by the UK CEO and Board, ensuring that our strategic initiatives align with our long-term goals and drive the company's success. Your expertise and leadership will be critical in shaping the future direction of E.ON in the UK, working closely with senior stakeholders to develop and implement impactful strategies.
Strategy Manager - UK Strategy Team
Here's what you'll be doing
- Support the Head of UK Strategy in developing the UK's strategy
- Lead or play a key role in strategic projects sponsored by the CEO and UK Board members
- Ensure effective communication and implementation of strategies
- Provide expertise on strategic decision-making and energy transition topics
- Assist senior stakeholders in identifying key topics, developing insights, and communicating them effectively
- Support corporate office activities for the UK CEO, including writing presentations, briefing notes, and preparing for high-profile meetings
- Analyse external trends, economic conditions, competitor performance, and growth opportunities, particularly in untapped areas of the energy value chain
- Support Group Strategy and COO-C projects
- Manage the "market review" process, working with Commercial Programming and UK Board members
- Respond to inquiries from Group Strategy, Commercial Programming, Investor Relations, and other central functions
- Continuously develop strategy skills and foster knowledge sharing within the team
- Collaborate with stakeholders including the UK CEO, Board, UKLT, line-of-business strategy teams, Commercial Services, and other Group functions
What we need from you
Essential:
- Knowledge of strategy development and analysis techniques
- Proven experience developing business strategies with senior stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, able to influence at all levels
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Self-motivated with a drive for excellent performance and independence
- Tolerance for change and ambiguity
- Experience with senior stakeholders, including Board members
- High level of numeracy and ability to deliver quality work under time constraints
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a strategy function
- Strong commercial, financial, and entrepreneurial acumen, including business plan and investment case development
- Deep knowledge of the energy industry and transition
- Degree-level education, preferably in a numerate discipline
- Experience in strategy, commercial, finance, project management, policy/regulation, or energy economics
- Experience in financial analysis and producing high-quality senior communications
