The Department of Aerospace at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#101040) at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2025.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes in the Technology concentration, undertake collaborative and multi-disciplinary research within the department and university, and be actively involved in university and professional service.
Applicants are required to meet one of the following three educational requirements by the appointment date.
An FAA pilot certificate (Private, Commercial, CFI, or ATP) is required. Applicants without a pilot certificate must be willing to pursue and complete a pilot certificate within the first two (2) years of employment (subsidized by the university).
Candidates who possess aerospace or flight-testing industry experience; collegiate teaching experience; the FAA CFI, CFII, and MEI certificates, or those with a doctorate or who are ABD in aerospace engineering, aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering science, flight test engineering, aviation systems, or a closely related field will receive special consideration.
