Under close supervision the Pumpdown Operator will be required to assist with rig-up and rig-down of high-pressure treating iron. Additionally, will be required to operate the boost pump and monitor pressure and other gauges. The position will be expected to perform basic maintenance and inspections on equipment. Perform all duties in compliance with Customer and Company policies and procedures and applicable regulations. Actively participates in safety meetings to identify and address risks and hazards. Performs other duties as assigned. Skills are typically acquired by completion of the Competency requirements. Typical requirements include a High School Diploma / G.E.D or applicable relevant experience. The candidate should have or be working towards obtaining a CDL.

Key Accountabilities

  • Operate boost pump and monitor boost pressure and other gauges.
  • Assist with spotting equipment and setting up location in a safe manner.
  • Assist with rigging-up and rigging-down of high-pressure iron from equipment to the wellhead.
  • Inspect high-pressure iron to ensure connections are secured and free of leaks.
  • Hook up suction hoses from water source safely.
  • Maintain high-pressure iron treating line; high-pressure seals, changing iron joints, and all associated parts.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with Customer and Company policies and procedures, along with applicable regulations.
  • Actively participates in safety meetings to identify and address risks and hazards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Utilizes competency processes to enhance job performance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of oilfield operations.
  • Basic Knowledge of pump operations.
  • Basic reading comprehension and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Pumps and supporting equipment.
  • Knowledge of Lifting.
  • Basic Computer skills.
  • Knowledge of company policies, Quality and HSE standards and departmental guidelines.
  • Ability to operate boost pump.
  • Ability to hook up suction hoses.
  • Ability to follow the Journey Management Process.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English to the extent that they can understand verbal and written instructions as well as give verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to use simple mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals (addition, subtraction, division and multiplication) to make job related calculations.
  • Preferred – Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • Preferred – Knowledge of OSHA oil field safety rules and regulations.
  • Preferred – Class A CDL (or with the abilities to obtain a Class A).

Minimum Required Education

  • G.E.D. - Required, or
  • H.S. Diploma - Required

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and able to qualify to obtain a commercial driver’s license. - Required
