Job Description:
The University at Albany, SUNY, seeks a full-time lecturer for the Program in Writing and Critical Inquiry to begin Fall Semester 2025. This position requires TOEFL/TESOL certification as the successful candidate's teaching duties will primarily be teaching international sections and English Language Learners. We are also seeking to increase cultural diversity in our program, so we strongly encourage applicants from under-represented backgrounds.
Responsibilities include teaching seven courses per year in person, with the possibility of release from one course per year to assist with professional development opportunities as assigned by the program director. Lecturers teach the Seminar in Writing and Critical Inquiry (WCI), a required general education course designed to introduce students to college-level critical inquiry, with an emphasis on the intensive practice of writing in academic and other contexts, and implement inclusive strategies that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
Although the primary course modalities are in-person, there will be opportunities to teach multi-modally depending on student demand and faculty expertise. For more information about the program, please visit www.albany.edu/wci.
