We work on the Global Streaming Platform supporting various video-on-demand products including Sky Showtime, Peacock and Showmax.
The Sky Tech Hub in Prague consists of around 100 people and will continue to grow. These are mostly developers, video streaming enthusiasts and experts, with extensive experience across markets, technologies, and products working on the Global Streaming Platform. We work closely with our colleagues in the UK, Portugal and the United States.
What role will you play?
As a Frontend Developer you will join our xTV (cross TV) Experience team within the Global Streaming Platform organization at Sky. You will be responsible for delivering video playback functionality in our xTV application for our offerings across Europe, Africa and the United States.
What You'll Do:
Work closely with Product and other Experience teams across the company to design and implement new features.
Provide careful peer reviews of changes as part of a team focused on reducing incidents and improving reliability.
Create robust automation to ensure stability and quick release cycles.
Enjoy troubleshooting and solving complex problems while collaborating with the team to achieve results.
Make the best use of all monitoring solutions to diagnose issues and support in-depth analyses.
Participate in on-call rotation to resolve production incidents.
What skills do you need to play your role well?
In-depth understanding of JavaScript/Typescript.
Knowledge of React, lightning JS or additional experience with playback APIs, DRMs and other technologies around playback is an advantage.
Enjoying teaming-up and working side-by-side with other team members as well as in a cross-team environment.
Being self-driven and open to learning new things.
Creative thinking and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
Fluent English.
