The experimental neutrino physics group at Louisiana State University invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher or senior postdoctoral researcher position to work on neutrino detector development and calibration tools for the next generation of large neutrino detectors.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include the design, development and optimization of detector hardware. Prototyping of detector components and calibration tools will be required to validate the design and evaluate the performance. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work on neutrino data analysis and perform studies of neutrinos from astro-physical sources with large underground neutrino experiments. Additional duties include assisting in the supervision of graduate and undergraduate students. The researcher is expected to assist with documentation of research findings and preparation of manuscripts for publication in the refereed journals and attend professional meetings to present results of this research. Senior postdoctoral researcher will lead research and supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
Minimum qualifications: PhD in particle or nuclear physics or related disciplines. Senior level also requires 3 years of related postgraduate experience.
Preferred qualifications: Candidates should have expertise in particle detector hardware, experience with data analysis and strong programming skills in C++ or Python.
