The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine (UPSDM) is accepting applications for a part-time (40% FTE), non-tenure stream clinical faculty position in the Center for Patients with Special Needs (CPSN). The faculty rank will depend on experience and qualifications. The primary responsibilities include clinical instruction of dental students and residents on patients with a wide spectrum of developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Applicants must have postgraduate experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry. Additional certification of advanced training in general dentistry (GPR, AEGD), pediatric dentistry, or special needs dentistry and commitment to continuing education is desirable. Applicants should have a special interest in treating patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities with a desire to teach and mentor predoctoral students and residents. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Applicants must have a DDS/DMD degree from an ADA-accredited school. The applicant must also be eligible for a Pennsylvania dental license. Application reviews will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
The CPSN delivers care through a multidisciplinary approach with dentists, dental specialists, anesthesiologists, and nurses for both adult and pediatric patients. As the need arises, services often include participation from our medical colleagues across the Pitt and UPMC campuses. The primary focus is to centralize and increase treatment capacity for patients with physical, developmental, neurological and behavioral challenges, as well as the frail elderly and those with medical complexity.
UPSDM is located on the University's main campus in Pittsburgh, contiguous with the other five health science schools.
