Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong is a through-train day school known for its warm and friendly global community, made up of over 40 nationalities. Opened in 2014, the school provides extraordinary learning opportunities to students ages 3 to 18. The school follows the English National Curriculum frameworks of EYFS, Key Stage 1-3, IGCSE and IBDP. The school has three dedicated campuses located in Sai Kung, Lam Tin and Kwun Tong for Early Years, Primary and Secondary students.

NORD ANGLIA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, HONG KONG is looking to recruit a HEAD OF PRIMARY PHYSICAL EDUCATION to join our Primary team, to drive excellent teaching and learning in our Nord Anglia Education School. 

This is an exciting opportunity to help create a generation of resilient and creative global citizens, who will change our world for the better. You will benefit our students and people, through our programmes such as the Global Campus, Nord Anglia University, and our collaborations with The Juilliard School, MIT, UNICEF, IMG, and King’s College London.

This role is being re-advertised due to the previous appointee being unable to relocate to Hong Kong for personal reasons.

The role:

We seek a qualified Head of Primary Physical Education to join our thriving and dynamic team across our outstanding International Primary School where your focus will be:

  • To provide professional leadership to deliver our Primary Physical Education provision, and secure high-quality teaching, effective use of resources, and high standards of learning & achievement for all pupils.
  • To fulfill the school’s mission statement by delivering high-quality education to our pupils, ensuring that planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet their varying learning, social, and welfare needs. 
  • Work in partnership with teachers, pupils, and parents to secure the best outcomes possible for every learner.
  • Maintain and raise standards where required and monitor and support pupil progress in all phases of the Primary PE provision.
  • Connect to our vision to create a generation of resilient and creative global citizens, who will change our world for the better.
  • Inspire and motivate our students to succeed.

The Successful Candidate will possess:

  • Qualified to Bachelor of Education or appropriate Degree with PGCE
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Qualified teacher with experience teaching in a UK and/or international environment
  • PE Training or similar qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience
  • Knowledge of the English National Curriculum and related subject knowledge
  • Knowledge and understanding of children’s learning and development and how this relates to Physical Education practice
  • Knowledge and awareness of current educational developments in Physical Education
  • Experience in making effective contributions to school improvement through subject development, phase leadership, subject leadership, or management roles.
  • Evidence of knowledge and understanding of wider educational developments
  • Knowledge and experience in raising standards for all groups of pupils
  • How to plan, deliver, monitor, and evaluate lessons and learning as part of the school curriculum
  • Knowledge of assessment and reporting procedures
  • Awareness of the Secondary PE curriculum to support effective transitions for all Primary learners
  • Able to integrate technology into the classroom experience to enhance and extend the learning of students 
  • Successfully teach students using technology in a virtual/hybrid environment

About you

Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students. You will be able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment as well as meet visa-related restrictions for Hong Kong of the China Region, including a Qualified to Bachelor of Education or appropriate Degree with PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status, hold a current Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure or equivalent from other countries. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils, and the willingness to undertake appropriate child protection training.
