Clinical Coordinator - Echocardiography

JOB SUMMARY

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, instruction, and evaluation of students at assigned clinical sites. Payment method for employees assigned to this job is “APO, lump-sum, fee-for-service.”

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Coordinates clinical education with didactic education as assigned by the program chair;
  • Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus. Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives;
  • Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught;
  • Evaluates and ensures effectiveness of the clinical affiliate/clinical education sites;
  • Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives;
  • Administers and grades class examinations;
  • Maintains records of student attendance and grades;
  • Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed;
  • Maintains program certification requirements;
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas;
  • Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts;
  • Meets with students, staff members, supervisors, as needed;
  • Participates in assessment, planning, budgeting, and staff development;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and demonstrated competencies in the discipline
  • Current ARDMS (RVT) (RDCS) or CCI (RVS) (RCS)
  • Two years of full-time professional work experience as a cardiac sonographer, pediatric cardiac sonographer and/or vascular technologist
  • Documented experience in supervision, instruction, and evaluation of students

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to the minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Salary commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
