Job Title: Sr. Manager, Product Development IT SME

Location: Pune, India

The Product Development IT Manager will be a crucial leader within our technology team, responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of IT solutions that support our product development initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of product development processes, IT project management, and the ability to drive innovation in technology solutions. The manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and operations, to ensure that IT systems and applications effectively support the development and launch of new products. This position demands a strategic thinker who can lead a team of IT professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that enhance product development efficiency and support business objectives.

In this role, the manager will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of IT projects related to product development, from initial concept through to deployment and maintenance. This includes managing a team of IT professionals, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that all IT solutions meet the highest standards of quality and performance. The manager will also play a critical role in promoting the use of innovative technologies within the organization, driving adoption and ensuring that these tools are used effectively to meet business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Lead the strategic planning and execution of IT projects that support product development, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall business goals and objectives.
• Technology Expertise: Leverage IT solutions to support product development processes, including product lifecycle management (PLM) systems CAD systems (e.g, CATIA & NX), collaboration tools, and data analytics platforms. Stay current with the latest technology trends and best practices.
• Team Management: Manage a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects. This includes setting performance goals, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of IT projects related to product development, from initial concept through to deployment and maintenance. This includes defining project scope, creating project plans, managing timelines, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product management, engineering, and operations teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure successful implementation. This includes conducting requirements analysis, facilitating design workshops, and providing technical guidance.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that all IT solutions meet the highest standards of quality and performance. This includes conducting code reviews, implementing testing protocols, and ensuring that applications are secure and scalable.
• Innovation and Improvement: Promote the use of innovative technologies within the organization, driving adoption and ensuring that these tools are used effectively to meet business needs. This includes evaluating new tools and technologies, participating in industry forums, and recommending improvements to existing processes.
• Documentation and Training: Develop comprehensive documentation and training materials for end-users and technical teams to ensure effective use and management of IT solutions. This includes creating user guides, technical specifications, and conducting training sessions.
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors (especially application managed services) and consultants, ensuring they deliver high-quality services and solutions that meet our business needs.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering/Manufacturing technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on product development processes. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems CAD systems (CATIA, NX, Autodesk), collaboration tools, and data analytics platforms. Experience with software development and IT infrastructure is also beneficial.
• Project Management: Strong project management skills, with experience managing the end-to-end lifecycle of custom application development projects with a focus on product development.
• Team Leadership: Proven experience managing and leading a team of developers, with strong leadership and mentorship skills.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement effective custom application solutions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in IT project management or product development are a plus
