Description & Requirements

ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cable Technician to join our team in Ft. Meade, MD area. 

Provides the provisioning, installation, design, termination, testing, documentation, operations, and maintenance of all types of IT cabling. This service includes both fiber optic cable and copper cable from single-strand/pair to large bulk cables that are used in the infrastructure backbone, underground, outdoor, and horizontal cabling to the desktop or equipment racks.

Responsibilities:

• 10%-20% OCONUS/OCONUS Travel
• Ability to assist in running cables for building or racking of equipment or other cabling services
• Install cabling both under floor and above the ceiling in cable trays, troughs, wiring baskets,
• harnesses, and J hooks
• Able to read drawings to establish correct wiring/cable runs, cable labeling
• Read and understand a CRL
• Field terminate/Test/troubleshoot cabling utilizing multiple types of connectors technical techniques (Copper and Fiber Optic cables)
• Ability to cable a rack based off that documentation (All aspects of Cable Management)
• Coordinate, and work with multiple organizations during a TDY
• Ability to manage multiple hardware related SNOW tickets and keep the customer updated on ticket statuses 
• Participate in Site surveys

Minimum Qualifications:

• Shall have a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in IT cable installations and termination.
• Provide team leadership, engineering, and design knowledge to meet technical specifications.
• Experience with termination equipment, methodologies, and splicing techniques.
• Experience with Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, cable termination, testing, cable rack preparation, layout and installation, and documentation.
• A valid BICSI Technician Certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Five (5) years of additional hardware engineering experience may be substituted for a certification.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

• The person in this position must be able to physical ability to lift 50 pounds, as well as remain in a stationary position 60% of the time. Occasionally move about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $102,700.00-$170,800.00.
