Empire Distributor's of N.C is hiring for and On - Premise, District Manager in the Chapel Hill and Durham areas.
Summary
Manages sales activities of the On-Premise sales division by performing the following duties personally or
through subordinate sales representatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Communicates and monitors Empire's objectives and expectations through staffing, training, and performance
evaluations.
Supervises salespersons' daily activities.
Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and
closing deals.
Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition in relation to Empire's presence in the
market.
Oversees key account business.
Interacts with suppliers through work-withs, dinners and trade functions.
Other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises between four and seven teammates in the On-Premise Department. Carries out
supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing
work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving
problems.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical
procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure
manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers,
clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages,
area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an
extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and
concrete variables.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet
software and Microsoft Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
State ABC license, valid driver's license. Must possess basic wine knowledge and pass or plan to pass the
CSW test.
