The University of Washington Seattle (UWS) Social Work Program invites applications for a CWTAP Field Instructor position at the rank of Teaching Associate. This is a non-tenurable, annually renewable, full-time (1.0 FTE) position with a 9-month service period. CWTAP faculty work each summer quarter and are therefore eligible for up to 3 months of additional salary each academic year.
The base salary range for this position will be $7850 - $8500 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
The Field Instructor would provide direct supervision and instruction for a unit of CWTAP participants in their Foundation and Advanced field placement at one of the designated offices of the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF).
The Child Welfare Training and Advancement Program (CWTAP) provides graduate-level social work education and practice experience for public child welfare employees and prospective employees through collaboration with the UWS Social Work Program and DCYF. This position will ensure the development of professional social work skills in students committed to post-MSW service in public child welfare.

This position is housed at the University of Washington, School of Social Work, and the designated DCYF offices in King County. Work will be performed at one of the DCYF offices at least three days per week and work will also be performed at the University of Washington, School of Social Work two days per week. The job requires occasional travel to other parts of the state and at least one national conference. The field instructor must provide their own transportation to each of the work sites. Travel reimbursement will be arranged for other required travel. Work is based on a forty-hour work week. Hours may be irregular, with days that may begin before 8 am and end after 5 pm, as needed. The field instructor will work very closely with other field instructors, field advisors, and program coordinators. This position requires travel, and the successful candidate will need a valid Washington State Driver’s License and reliable transportation. Successful candidates will also need to submit Background Checks. This position is supervised by the CWTAP Director.
