What would “a day in the life” of this role look like? Notwithstanding a regular diet of meetings with members of the team and other constituents, this role will be largely self-directed to conduct requirements gathering, market research, spend analytics, Sourcing events, negotiate contracts, and secure procurement of indirect items (predominantly services). Will also engage in development of category strategies, contract amendments and renewals.
What interaction level with this role have the team members and hiring manager? Significant -these folks are the primary constituency. Other interactions with the respective business owners for whom they will be performing the Sourcing role (the larger constituency).
What would you say is the top priority for the worker over the first few weeks/months? Learn the nuances of Bread and execute Bread’s Sourcing process based on their experience and skillset.
What do you foresee being the biggest challenge in this role? Having to hit the ground running and contribute out of the gate based on their existing skills and experience (emphasis on relevancy and compatibility).
Senior level individual contributor with 6 years experience or more in Sourcing/Procurement of Professional Services that should include the categories of Marketing, Business Development, Financial, Consulting, Bank Operations, and/or Data Analytics. Familiarity with/experience in a Financial Institution or Bank is a plus. Successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the nuances of categories and verticals in which we operate.
Must be a skilled practitioner is all aspects of Sourcing, Procurement, and Category Management including spend analytics, market research, strategy definition, competitive solicitation, supplier negotiation, and contract management. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate professionally at all levels of the organization. Ability to lead projects and initiatives is prerequisite. Supervisory experience is good, but will not be part of the job going forward. A Positive attitude and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and deal with the incumbent pressures of such an environment, will be important success factors.
