Job Overview:
The Quality Coordinator RN is responsible for overseeing and implementing quality improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards within a healthcare setting. This role involves evaluating and enhancing patient care processes , analyzing clinical data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to address quality issues and promote best practices. The coordinator ensures adherence to state and federal requlations, conducts internal audits, and prepares reports related to quality metrics. They develop and deliver educational programs for staff, address patient and family concerns, and work closely with various stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, the Quality Coordinator RN assists in policy development and ensures that all practices are evidence-based and aligned with regulatory requirements.
Education:
Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
Licenses/Certificates:
Current RN license in the State of Illinois required. CPHQ designation desired.
Experience:
Minimum of three years in an acute care facility and demonstrated working knowledge of general hospital operations. Case Management, Medical and/or Emergency Department experience desired. Working knowledge of Quality Improvement principles recommended. Must possess a positive working relationship with the Medical Staff, Department Leaders, and Hospital Staff throughout the facility, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be capable of working independently and autonomously. Working knowledge electronic medical records, Word, Power Point, and Excel Office products. Previous chart review or audits required.
