Technical Data Analyst / Data Developer

Location: Remote

Position Summary

The Technical Data Analyst / Data Developer is responsible for meeting the business needs for better intelligence and information by developing, refining, trouble-shooting data solutions and working with the staff throughout the organization. The Technical Data Analyst / Data Developer will work closely with the Data Team, EHR team, Operations, Finance, Billing and Business teams to provide information for better decision-making. The Technical Data Analyst / Data Developer will provide support to the Director of Health Data Analytics in making data-driven decisions by gathering requirements, analyzing, creating, optimizing, inventorying, and tracking, and documenting data architecture and strategies and processes within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Development

  • Ingest, store, process, and analyze large datasets from various data sources and formats
  • Develop and implement pipelines that extract, load, and transform data into an information product that helps the organization reach its strategic goals
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management
  • Assist with building and maintaining a data lakehouse platform to support business intelligence needs
  • Monitoring and Support
  • Ensure data quality and reliability through data validation, testing, and ongoing monitoring
  • Document and resolve data-related problems, working collaboratively to ensure data quality
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to data flows within the company
  • Analytics
  • Work with executives and cross-functional teams to gather and understand business requirements for BI solutions.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using PowerBI and other relevant tools
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses using Microsoft Excel
  • Collaboration
  • Manage all tasks completely, including prioritization, working with stakeholders for design and specs, communicating status to all, writing the code, and documenting what you've done.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the established data definitions match their expectations.
  • Participate in code reviews and daily interactions to ensure the data lakehouse meets our high standards
  • Cross train with Electronic Health Records Analysts to assist with ongoing projects.
  • Work collaboratively with the Data Team, Electronic Health Records team, Operations and Finance Teams to ensure business needs are met
  • Adhering To Best Practices
  • Employ best practices for data management, analytics and ELT procedures.
  • Document system designs and processes.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics.

  • Microsoft Azure including Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database and Azure DataLake Gen 2

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution plus 2 years related experience
  • Demonstrated experience with data modeling, data integration and various data architectures (such as data warehouse, data lake, and data lakehouse)
  • In-depth understanding of online analytical processing (OLAP) and ELT (Extract, load, transform) design
  • Knowledgeable in one of the cloud computing providers (preferably Azure)
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as SSRS and Power BI
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases and database design
  • Proficiency in object-oriented languages (preferably C#)
  • Experience engaging directly with end users and executive staff to define business data requirements.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record Platforms (such as Netsmart, or EPIC)
  • Must be able to perform duties with moderate to low supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of healthcare experience (IT or clinical).
  • Hands-on experience in provisioning Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Solid grasp of CI/CD principles
  • Proficiency in Batch and/or PowerShell scripting
