What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide technical safety and health support and information to production and corporate personnel
  • Conduct Safety training for new employees at various locations, in varied conditions
  • Travel for this role is currently 100%
  • Extensive job site walking, climbing, and equipment demonstrations frequently
  • Prepare written safety and health programs and policies
  • Identify company safety training needs and develop and coordinate safety training programs
  • Develop annual company safety and health goals
  • Participate in new product/process reviews including process hazard analysis, Operator Training, etc.
  • Support corporate/field needs to implement engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards
  • Support personnel in selection and training with appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Manage PPE inventory across the country
  • Maintain Safety Records via Quick Base database and scanned, traditional records
  • Maintain corporate safety library (e.g. videos, regulations, reference manuals)
  • Promote safety and health awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters, and specific training programs
  • Participate in various Safety Committees
  • Review process operating procedures/batch records and provide input for safety and health considerations
  • Understand Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations and monitor regulatory changes (through Federal Register, etc.) as they occur
  • Provide technical support to corporate and personnel to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations
  • Advise offices and corporate staff of regulatory changes with which the offices must comply. Sufficient advance notice should be provided so that compliance on the effective date of new regulations is assured
  • Conduct onsite Safety audits
  • Host multiple online, audio, and jobsite Safety meetings with small and large groups
  • Monitor lost-time injuries/illnesses and Worker's Compensation Claims
  • Manage post-incident reporting
  • Respond to field employee with ongoing Safety support
  • Review injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follow-up as necessary

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a safety science/engineering/industrial hygiene discipline or equivalent working experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial electrical experience
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations, NEPA, ANSI with a strong knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Ability to travel 100% is required
  • OSHA 500 required
  • Experience using Construction Aerial, Industrial, and Earth Moving Equipment strongly preferred
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and through writing in a professional, courteous, and knowledgeable manner
  • Ability to prioritize tasks according to deadlines and urgency, and complete them in a timely and professional manner
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
