Duration: 6 Months Contract

Location: Etobicoke, ON, Canada

Salary: $70.00-$85.00/Hourly

Role: Azure Synapse Data Engineer

Primary Skills: MS Azure

Role Description: The Azure Synapse Data Engineer must have 3+ years of experience.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Strong experience of SSAS Tabular Model, DAX queries and query optimization, resolving performance issues, database tuning and data replication techniques with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong background with Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views and Data warehousing (Clear on the concepts of creating Facts, dims etc.)
• Must have strong experience in Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks (ADB), Synapse, T-SQL, Azure SQL DWH, ADLS, SparkSQL/PySpark and other Azure services for database, storage, security, and development of BI solutions is required. 
• Familiar with Microsoft Fabric is good to have. 
• Must have experience writing ADB/Synapse notebooks.
• Some knowledge and understanding of Azure functions, Azure Streaming Analytics, Document DB (or Cosmos), MDS (SQL Master Data Service) and Graph DB is required.
• Excellent Business Intelligence, Problem Solving, Analytical, Reporting and/or Visualization skills.

Education: Any/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or Equivalent

Relocation: This position will not cover relocation expenses
