zulily is seeking an Editorial Stylist.  If you are a proven self-starter who can problem solve on-the-fly, loves the kids industry and has an passion for style then keep reading!


This position is for an editorial stylist that will style and lay out product including children’s apparel for zulily photographers. Must be able to work on a very tight timeline. Attention to detail is everything. The position requires the ability to communicate, and present product effectively and visually appealing. Being able to successfully manage one’s time.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Style Event - collaborate with the styling assistant to bring together products, wardrobe, props, set materials, etc. to prepare for and set up for the photo shoot.  Collaborate with hair and make-up stylists to style models.

  • Customer/Talent relations - greet models/talent upon arrival, instruct models on wardrobe changes, hair and make-up, etc.

  • Concept Event - use Merchandising guidance/requests to create concept for the shoot.  Collaborate with photographer to concept set plans.

  • On Set Execution - collaborate with the photographer to direct models on set.

  • Merchandising Communications - write communications to Merchandising team to clarify or explain event requests. 

  • Resourcing props and wardrobe

Qualifications

  • Ability to understand body dimensions for a child size garment to appear that it is worn on an actual body (but hung on a hanger)

  • Good hand/eye dexterity

  • Sewing/design experience is very helpful as you will be working with sewing pins and fabrics

  • Ability to take direction from head stylist and creative team and learn quickly

  • Ability to use a garment steamer

  • Possess a strong sense of lighting and composition

  • Create or suggest ideas for how to style different product types

  • Work in a fast-paced environment to meet sale event deadlines

  • Be able to set schedules and meet tight deadlines – self-directed

  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong sense of color and style

  • High energy, positive attitude, ability to develop and communicate ideas

  • Retail, design or fashion merchandising experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
