On is looking for a Senior Lead - Visual Exploration with a strong design background, expertise in 3D modeling, and an endless curiosity for keeping up with trends and emerging tools. As a Senior Lead - Visual Exploration, you will guide a team of 3D modeling and rendering specialists whose task is to collaborate closely with footwear designers to create disruptive design concepts. These designs will then be followed through to completion, becoming final products. Whether designing for high-performance athletes, further developing existing trail shoe models, or working in the fashion world, you are equally enthusiastic. Your team delivers performance without compromising style, working at the intersection of design, innovation and product development to build the future of On.

Your Mission

• Take a lead in advancing the transformation from 2D to 3D workflows.
• Develop new workflows and implement digital creation tools to enhance On’s capabilities and speed up prototyping processes.
• Understand the advantages of new tools and integrate them into our workflows.
• Support the entire design team in learning new skills and softwares.
• Collaborate with internal and external experts and partners to foster knowledge exchange, learn new methods, and scout new talent.
• Be the glue between cross-functional working teams and help to reach deadlines.
• Collaborate with our teams in Zurich and Vietnam to create functional, performance-driven products.
• Be an integral part of the Design team and push the visual and technical boundaries of On’s future products and technology platforms.

Your story

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in product/industrial design, Game Design, 3D Animation or in a similar field
• You have 7+ years of experience working in design teams, delivering world-class visual solutions, and designing performance products.
• Experience in leading a team and or big projects in an agile environment is a must; sports industry experience is a plus.
• You possess an innovative mindset with a strong drive to push the boundaries of product design and innovation.
• You have excellent knowledge and understanding of 2D and 3D tools.
• You have a keen interest in performance products, as well as a general passion for sports, and can translate that passion into product designs.
• You are organized, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
• You thrive in collaborative environments with cross-functional teams.
• You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
