Primary Purpose:

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain acceptable production levels, minimize down time through efficient operation and assure all quality checks are completed. To operate the Security Flange line in an efficient and safe manner meeting all production requirements.

Job Duties: Level 2 (Training Level)

• Be able to assemble security flange parts correctly and operate weather strip machine. Insure that the correct materials are being used
• Utilize roller carts when possible to minimize down time
• Insert proper weather-strip / tape and trim it to specified length
• Daily complete all paperwork for production reporting.
• Exercise excellent housekeeping and organizational habits; assure work area is clean before leaving.
• Observe all safety rules and regulations. (Including all start / stops and lock out tag out policies as well as all pinch points)

Level 3

• Develop knowledge of security flange component quality requirements and continually check the material as it is being processed.
• Ability to set up and safely run the Whirl Wind Saw, cutting materials to the required dimensions
• Be knowledgeable of the product (i.e. white, veneer, bronze, and mill finishes)
• Identify all bottlenecks that exist in production operation and work to minimize down time and work to eliminate inefficiencies.
• Thorough knowledge of the set up and operation of the auto bagger
• Thorough understanding of the makeup of the conversion kits

Level 4

• Demonstrate the ability to work and solve fabrication problems with minimal supervision.
• Be able to comprehend customer orders based upon assy specs so that the appropriate materials are packed, the boxes labeled properly, and quantities are correct.
• Immediately notify the Supervisor of production problems, incoming material quality problems, or machine malfunctions.
• Serve as a back up for L-punch Set/Up Operators
• Serve as a back up Material Handler when necessary
• Demonstrate the ability to manage inventory by use of the RF scan gun system
• Demonstrate the ability to print assy specs and carton labels.

JOB ANALYSIS

JOB KNOWLEDGE: No specific job knowledge is required to become a crewmember. Must be capable of on the job training.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Approximately 6 months of work experience is required to become skilled in all phases of the job. Must be capable of reading a tape measure at least to 32nd of an inch and new measuring equipment. Educational requirements due to accountability of production require completion of 9th grade. Must have the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.

INITIATIVE & INGENUITY: Work priorities are determined by QAD and or paper work from the , supervisor, or Plant Manager. The operator should quality check the raw and sub-finished goods materials frequently. Individual must be self-motivated working with limited supervision while following verbal and written instructions.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Under specific direction of the Supervisor and Plant Manager, where goals and objectives are established. Coordinate work with material handler when necessary. Report any situations affecting machine center efficiency. Advise supervisor of unusual circumstances as they occur.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR ERRORS: Errors may be serious involving inventory or missed shipments and will become apparent in daily processing. Maintain proper production and reject reporting.

CONTACT WITH OTHER: Regular contact with other employees, lead people and staff members where improper handling may affect results. Clear, concise communications skills are important.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Flow of work and character of duties involve performing frequent hand, wrist, and arm motions with the capability of standing the entire shift. Normal and/or corrected vision and hearing are necessary with manual coordination some walking, bending, twisting, stooping and lifting of approximately 20/25 lbs. Must have good hand and eye coordination and be mechanically adaptable to using hand tools.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT: Damage to any equipment would result in a loss for the company. This position must be capable of performing basic routine preventative maintenance (i.e. checking for air leaks and adding oil), if necessary, on all machines relative to this area including the chop saw. Assure that the logbook is effectively completed!

WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS: Exposed to normal factory environment (wood dust and aluminum) with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent. Must be able to withstand heat in excess of 95 degrees.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations as specified in the Endura’s Safety Manual. This responsibility necessitates wearing of proper personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses, ear plugs and ear muffs, if required).
