Alpha Media

Alpha Media is seeking a Programming Utility Associate for our Bethany and Cameron, Missouri office locations. The ideal candidate is capable of wearing many hats and has a passion for radio. This is a jack-of-all-programming trades position, where duties will include news writing and reading, on-air talent work, audio production, sports play-by-play, website updates, syndication localization, and running the board during local sports broadcasts. Knowledge of WordPress and video production is a plus. We will provide comprehensive training for the right candidate.

Locally, Alpha Media operates radio stations KAAN-AM/FM, KKWK-FM, and KMRN-AM.

Responsibilities of this position may include:

• Engage with listeners via phone calls, contests, and social media.
• Covering on-air board shifts as needed. 
• Broadcast live from remote locations and events.
• Operate control console.
• Play-by-play of local sporting events. 
• Maintain affidavit compliance.

Requirements of this position include the following:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations.
• Proficient in the use of audio editing software and broadcast equipment.
• Must be a team player and work well with management and staff at all levels.
• Must be able to work independently. 
• Ability to successfully execute station events and remotes.
• Able to relate to the audience and have a strong listener interaction.
• Public speaking skills and ability to interact with listeners and clients in a public setting.
• Excellent problem-solving and prioritizing skills.
• Ability to multi-task and handle pressures and deadlines.
• Skilled in the operation of the control board, remote broadcasting, and other related production equipment.
• Be a positive member of a tight-knit team.
• Must be creative and innovative with a strong work ethic.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and fully insured personal vehicle.
