Energy Transition Roadmap Development
Create, track, and periodically update the energy transition roadmap for Hindalco, with a focus on achieving 30% renewable power consumption by 2030.
Be the single point owner of this plan, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and sustainability objectives.
Ecosystem Engagement
Liaise with energy solution developers, consultants, and policymakers to track market and technology trends, including innovations in energy storage solutions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key ecosystem participants to stay ahead of industry developments.
Regulatory Liaison
Engage with central and state regulators regularly to anticipate potential regulatory changes.
Develop and implement mitigation strategies or policy advocacy efforts in response to regulatory developments.
Solution Co-Creation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Hindalco and external solution providers to co-create viable energy solutions, particularly for smelting operations.
Ensure solutions meet desired capacity utilization factors (peak/average/minimum), guarantee renewable power availability, and provide fault tolerance/backup.
Techno-Commercial Evaluation
Assess the techno-commercial viability of various renewable energy proposals and ideas
Provide expert analysis to support decision-making on energy investments.
Negotiation and contracting
Negotiate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and other related documents, including equity/investment structures, to optimize risk-reward economics.
Ensure compliance with regulations, including securing a 26% stake in Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) to qualify as a captive producer.
Board Representation
Represent Hindalco on the boards of power SPVs, ensuring the company's interests are effectively managed (e.g., Ayana SPV).
Communication and Advocacy
Develop and maintain communication materials to articulate Hindalco’s energy transition plan for external stakeholders.
Represent Hindalco at external events, including power conferences, government programs, and industry bodies.
Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as the primary spokesperson for Hindalco's energy transition initiatives, engaging with industry peers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to advance Hindalco's leadership in sustainable energy
