Delivery Manager

Overview of the role :

Delivery Manager is the high-level role within a tribe responsible for the cross-squad delivery management. It is analogues to Release Train Engineer (RTE) as defined in SAFe framework. Role takes charge of defining delivery scope, coordinating squads to deliver value and act as a chief Scrum Master to ensure development process is managed optimally. 

This role directly manages team of Scrum Masters within a tribe, and works closely with PMO tribe, to provide centralized governance on Tribe’s SDLC and Ways of Working. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the cross-platform releases; 
  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs); 
  • Facilitate PI planning, tribe-wide backlog refinement, and roadmap preparation; 
  • Assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities; 
  • Facilitate periodic synchronization events as necessary throughout development process; 
  • Ensure that leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters follow agile practices and mindsets. Where necessary, provide support and training on organizational-wide agreed standards and practices; 
  • Work with tribe leadership, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment; 
  • Handle communication and collaboration with other tribes to identify risks, effectively remove impediments and resolve dependencies; 
  • Support and collaborate with Head of Engineering of a tribe to define and track the roadmap; 
  • Support and collaborate with Head of Engineering of a tribe to prepare quarterly reviews; 
  • Track agile metrics for the tribe and all its squads and review them with relevant stakeholders; 
  • Implement and manage agile SDLC process and relevant tooling across the platform to improve efficiency and maximize value; 
  • Directly manage Scrum Masters of the tribe. This includes regular 1 to 1s, performance management, mentoring, guidance and probation follow through. 
  • Participate in the recruitment process to hire Scrum Masters for the squad. The focus will be on the human and cultural aspects. 
  • Liaise with Solution Architects early or prior to new platform-wide solution implementation to get alignment on technical approaches; 
  • Ensure the teams are set up and delivering on their roadmap alligned to Singulars Vision & Mission; 
  • Liase with Operations teams to ensure problems, incidents & bugs are also getting roadmap time and there is a balance between new features and operating our products to agreed SLA’s 
  • Provide leadership and direction where necessary: 
  • Implement team goals or objectives; 
  • Supervise, train or guide team members; 
  • Mediate any interpersonal issues; 
  • Inspire and motivate team members; 
  • Provide effective feedback; 
  • Manage remote teams. 
  • Related duties as assigned. 

What you’ll bring: 

  • 5+ Delivery/Project/Programme Management Experience; 
  • Experience working with SaaS products; 
  • Experience with iterative, value-driven product releases; 
  • Experience working with cross functional teams in a technology domain. 
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tools (especially JIRA & Confluence); 
  • Good understanding of Agile frameworks and their differences; 
  • Proficiency in formal communication; 
  • Proficiency with common collaboration tools: Google Docs, Slack, Skype; 
  • Advanced level of English Language; 

Preferable Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of SAFe framework; 
  • Development or QA background; 
  • Knowledge of software QA methodologies and experience with test plan implementation; 
  • Proficiency in designing sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, flowcharts; 
  • ITIL Certification. 

Certification: 

  • Professional Scrum Master (PSM) Certificate 1/2/3
