Administrative Program Coordinator

School of Public Health and Topical Medicine

Location: New Orleans, LA

Summary

Administrative Program Coordinator for Advancing Health Equity (P4HE Collaborative) provides support to the HES4A Director in the coordination, and implementation of cohort-building events, master classes, writing retreats, and trainings for scholars; assists with calendar management; and will assist in coordinating communications with the P4HE Team, with outside vendors, key administrators and offices at Tulane. Tasks include assisting in the scheduling and management of virtual activities, and the drafting and creation of related materials; managing mailing lists; drafting various communications materials, expense tracking, and invoice processing. Preforming other tasks as needed.

The ideal candidate will have thorough attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills, strong writing and grammar skills, experience with Concur, brings creativity to the project and has a mission-oriented outlook to their work.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience working on a professional/administrative setting
  • Excellent written, presentation, verbal communications and interpersonal skills
  • Experience adhering to timelines and workflows
  • Experience coordinating and managing virtual events on Zoom or other platforms
  • Able to work well in a team environment as well as individually, handle multiple assignments, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) and Adobe Suite; Zoom; Project Management Tools.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND CHECK, PHYSICAL, AND DRUG SCREENING FOR INCUMBENTS WHO HAVE CONTACT OR EXPOSURE TO ANIMALS OR ANIMAL TISSUES:

Selected candidates must complete and pass a background check and an occupational health screening as a condition of employment. For identified jobs, a drug screening will also be required. The background investigation required occupational health screening, and any required drug screening will be conducted after a conditional employment offer has been extended.

Required Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with 2 years of relevant work experience

OR

  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s in Public Health, related field, or 
  • Proficiency in virtual event management
  • Experience with administrative skills
  • Experience working in academic settings 
  • Experience in Public Health and/or Health Communications 
  • Writing Experience
  • Knowledge about research and scholarly publishing process

Compensation Information

This position is classified as "non-exempt, hourly" and is assigned to pay grade 23.
