Closing date: Wednesday 2nd October

The Opportunity:

A new opportunity has emerged to lead our Performance and Reward as part of the People Team at Zurich UK.

This role will spearhead the evolution of our performance management approach, craft a medium-term reward strategy, and ensure that both performance management and reward systems are closely aligned with our business strategy and drive improved business performance.

You will excel in engaging and managing senior stakeholders, building mutually beneficial internal partnerships (across the UK business and with Group HR colleagues) and external partnerships (with the two Unions recognised by Zurich, and relevant thought leaders and suppliers). You should possess deep expertise in performance management, and total reward (including benefits).

As the leader of an HR center of expertise, you will be responsible for delivering various projects and initiatives to customers, managing competing priorities, and translating people plans into actionable deliverables. A strong interest in developing data-driven solutions and using data to influence stakeholders and set priorities is essential. You will also lead negotiations with unions on matters related to the annual salary review cycle and anything related to performance and reward.

You will lead and develop a team of HR professionals, inspiring them to adopt a broad perspective when developing solutions and driving the modernization of our practices and processes.

Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

What are we looking for?

  • In-depth understanding of relevant HR practices
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate impactful and meaningful working relationships both internally and externally across a diverse stakeholder network
  • Proven experience in operating at a strategic level
  • Proven experience of innovation and/or transformation of reward practices
  • Solid knowledge of external practices, especially competitor reward offerings
  • Strong influencing and negotiation abilities, with the capacity to present clear, strategic, and data-driven insights to the People Leadership Team, the UK Executive team and senior management
  • Demonstrated experience in managing teams

What happens next?

As an inclusive employer we want to ensure that all candidates feel comfortable and are able to perform at their best during the interview. You’ll have the opportunity to let us know of any reasonable adjustment or practical support needed when you apply.
