COMPENSATION: $16.00/hour

SUMMARY OF POSITION/ RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The main responsibility of this position will be to work closely with our Public Affairs team to create social media assets to use for communication through our various platforms. Also to attend student life events to capture photos and take testimonials to share through social media. 

Position Description & Details

• Work closely with the social media specialist to create media used for internal and external messaging and promotions.
• Assist the Public Affairs team with setting up and covering BSC events, such as Explore BSC, program-specific open houses, press conferences and more. 
• Assists in maintaining checklists for Public Affairs materials, such as banners, mascots, and signage.
• Embraces the opportunity to participate in social media talent including the mascot.
• Support off-campus outreach events by capturing photos, video, and interviews when applicable.
• Opportunity to be a part of various marketing projects to diversify their portfolio.
• Maintains good public relations while working with faculty, staff and customers.
• Supports innovation, creativity and ideas to enhance processes in the Public Affairs department and college.
• Opportunity to participate in various marketing projects to diversify their portfolio.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• A strong understanding of various social media platforms (such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn, etc.)
• The ability to bring fresh ideas and innovative approaches for content creation and community engagement.
• Strong communication skills: Both written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to effectively convey messages, engage with followers, and write compelling captions and posts.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects.
• The ability to work independently and handle interruptions.
• The ability to lift to 30 pounds (essential function).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with diverse personalities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of – Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Knowledge of the college's culture, values, and target audience.
