HDR has an excellent opportunity in the Georgia-Alabama/Mississippi Water Business Group for a professional to lead the growth, control, direction, and quality of the Area’s Pump Station and Pipelines Business Class. The Business Class Leader (BCL) is a professional that is well versed in all aspects of Business Class (BC) services for pump stations and pipeline projects and leads a group of business class professionals. Given the current backlog of conveyance work and upcoming opportunities for continued growth, we have an immediate need to fill this BC position.
The duties of the Pump Station and Pipelines BCL are to plan, direct and oversee all aspects of large-scale multi-discipline and multi-benefit projects with a high degree of technical complexity. The position will build and maintain client relations and participate in project development and contract document preparation. The person will work with senior, mid- and junior-level staff across a variety of disciplines. The position will participate in and provide oversight of a variety of project types including planning, design, inspection and construction management of pump station and pipelines and general site civil of major water, wastewater and reclaimed water infrastructure.
The position will coordinate projects with inter-related disciplines such as structural, geology, geotechnical, civil, mechanical, CADD and GIS. The position will also require coordination with HDR’s other regional and national business class technical leads and advisors.
As a Business Class Lead, you will participate in the corporate management of the pump station and pipeline business class program. Work assignments may include technical and quality reviews of projects outside of your geographic area.
Primary Responsibilities
The primary duties of the Pump Station and Pipelines BCL include: responsibility for area coordination, monitoring and improvement of technical competencies of BC staff and products to meet client needs and market drivers all within the direction and goals of BC plans; participation in delivery of project services to meet client expectations; collaboration on BC efforts with area operations, market sector leadership, marketing and project management; participation in BC practice and professional discipline groups, project teams and activities to continually improve standards and best practices; implementation of effective quality assurance and quality control reviews; participation in regional and area BC strategic planning, budgeting and plan implementation; establishing internal and external training programs and training schedules; assist with business development efforts and provide support on proposal preparation; plan for project needs and recruit/hire staff accordingly, and drive the BC to meet project goals for growth, client satisfaction, and service diversification.
