Carries out all duties assigned in a timely and skillful manner involving various HVAC tasks including coil cleaning, trouble shooting, repairing and preventative maintenance. Trains less-experienced workers in the HVAC field. Complies with the requirements of the state, national building codes, OSHA, DHEC and EPA. Performs other duties as assigned.
80% - Essential - Coil Cleaning and Maintenance: Uses toxic chemicals wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including full face masks, rubber boots, body suits, and gloves, to clean air handler and fan coil units, internally and externally. Maintains system by dissembling, spraying, cleaning, flushing coils, reassembling, conducting test
operation, and restoring system to service. Tests pressure differential across coils with a calibrated electronic manometer to validate cleaning impact on system efficiency. Performs other clean-ups as directed.
10% - Essential - HVAC Maintenance: Maintains fan coils, air handlers, and reheat and preheat coils. Performs scheduled and unscheduled preventive and corrective coil and associated equipment maintenance within cost and time allowed per PM guidelines. Changes filters, oils, greases, and changes motors as determined by PM analysis. Re-insulates per SOP. Unstops or replaces condensate drains after determining failure. Diagnoses, calibrates, and replaces failed pneumatic thermostats as required.
10% - Essential - Electrical Maintenance: Uses VOM. Traces HVAC switching and power circuits in rooms or buildings. Isolates systems electronically before maintenance. Performs Lockout/Tagout per OSHA specifications. Traces a circuit in a room or building.
Education - High School Diploma or Equivalent and experience in the installation and maintenance of HVAC systems or in the operation and maintenance of HVAC mechanical and building control systems. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.

Licenses - Drivers License Class D normal

Monday - Friday, 4:00pm - 12:00am with occasional weekend and off hour work. Standard Hours: 40
Expected Salary Range: ($ 40,000.00 - $ 49,800.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
