Duties

  • You will receive and transfer fuel by coupling and uncoupling hoses, closes and opens valves, starts and stops pumps, and monitors gauges, meters and filter separators.
  • You will operate and maintain a complete fuels distribution system(s) to receive, store, transfer, and issue both aviation and ground fuels.
  • You will operate one or more type of special purpose design aviation and ground fuel-tank truck vehicles having a capacity of up to 10,000 gallons and gross vehicle weight in excess of 100,000 pounds.
  • You will transport fuel from the bulk storage area to the flight line issue point and position the vehicle for the refueling/de-fueling task as required.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You must be removed from your military recall status. A signed statement of understand is required for this position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a license and/or certification for all assigned equipment, including forklifts.
  • You must possess and maintain a current Class 'A' Driver's License (CDL) with Air Brakes, Tanker, and HAZMAT endorsements with no restrictions at the time of hire.
  • You must provide a copy of your CDL with your application. Failure to do so may result in you losing consideration for the position.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You may lift and carry weights up to 75 pounds.
  • You must be able to distinguish between basic colors and shades of colors.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: The ability to perform the work of a WG-5413-08, Fuel Distribution Systems Worker, as demonstrated by experience, working under close supervision as directed by higher graded personnel performing the following: receiving, storing, transferring, dispensing fuels, operating work stations or portions of a larger fuel distribution system, operating gasoline and diesel powered refueling vehicles, complying with established regulations for handling fuel; complying with laws and regulations to handle Hazardous Material (HAZMAT), and I possess a Class A CDL with Air Brakes, HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.
