What You Will Do
- Provide hands-on support to individuals at their job sites or off-site, ensuring they thrive in their roles.
- Train and guide individuals through mastering specific job tasks, tracking their progress, and setting goals to boost their independence.
- Collaborate closely with clients, their families, and referral agencies to implement effective rehabilitation plans.
- Help build and nurture natural support systems for individuals in their workplaces.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) – “What you will need”:
- Education: Requires general education development necessary to provide supervision and training to people with disabilities at a level normally acquired through completion of two years of college. Completion of the Maine Employment Curriculum preferred.
- License/Certifications: N/A
- Experience: Six months of previous job coaching experience and/or experience working with people with disabilities in a related field preferred.Requires analytical ability necessary to provide training and guidance to people with disabilities and evaluate performance.
