Research Nurse Manager

Tulane Cancer Center

Location: New Orleans, LA

Summary

This is a full-time position within the Tulane Cancer Center (TCC) Clinical Trials Office (CTO). The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the quality of clinical care and adherence to clinical research protocols. The Manager, Clinical Research Nursing has oversight of clinical research operations, including resolution of research barriers and clinical operations, liaising between the research and clinical team, and ensuring protocol compliance and patient safety. This position manages all research nursing and the direct care of participants enrolled in TCC clinical trials. Responsibilities include direct supervision of patient-facing clinical research nurses and coordinators, process improvement initiatives that enhance protocol compliance, and education and training for all clinical research functions. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of clinical research data collection and clinical data report preparation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain hospital credentials
  • High-level interpersonal skills in a professional environment are required 
  • Ability to interact and communicate with senior leadership and physician investigators
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Proactively resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Excellent customer service orientation 
  • Deadline oriented; work well under pressure

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Current Louisiana RN license
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • A minimum of six years nursing experience
  • Four years of oncology nursing experience
  • Two years of clinical research experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice preferred
  • OCN Certification 
  • Research certification (e.g., CCRP, ACRP, etc.)
  • Prior supervisory experience in oncology research
  • Previous clinical research experience at an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center

Compensation Information

This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 27PREM.
