Description:Lockheed Martin has an exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager. We are looking for someone who is a motivator, innovator and change agent who enjoys working in a fast pace environment.

Our manager of federal income tax will primarily be responsible for managing accounting for income taxes, tax planning and income tax compliance while developing and leading teams and driving change. Below are the main responsibilities:

Responsible for quarterly preparation, direction and review of income tax accounting to comply with ASC740.

Manage the income tax compliance process, including data gathering, preparation/review of income tax calculations and tax forms for federal and state purposes including some partnerships.

Manage the tax budgeting and forecasting process, including the preparation of estimated payments.

Provide support in reviewing new and existing tax laws, court cases, regulations and rulings to ensure minimization of the Corporate tax burden.

Review and prepare memos for tax positions and special projects.

Collaborate with teams across the enterprise with a continuous process improvement mindset incorporating AI, Alteryx and other digital tools to enhance and optimize tax processes.

Support IRS and financial statement audits.

Assist with internal controls compliance.

Ability to assist with various special projects.

Develop and maintain critical relationships between Tax, Controller, Treasury, Legal, and Business Units to ensure Tax has a well-informed view of the business operations.

Responsible for managing and developing a team of tax accountants, retaining and attracting talent with skills necessary to operate in a new virtual, digital environment and creating an inclusive environment with continuous feedback dialogues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 years of tax practice experience in public accounting or large corporate tax department
  • Technical skills in book and tax accounting
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of tax regulations
  • Experience with ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications including:

Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Functions, Formulas)

Word

Powerpoint (Tables, Charts, Data Storytelling)

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Continuous learning attitude and willingness to teach others
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in leadership imperatives

Desired Skills:

  • CPA and/or Masters in Taxation degree
  • 5+ years experience with a Big Four or large public accounting firm
  • 4+ years experience leading teams
  • Knowledge and experience in Mergers & Acquisitions (due diligence & modeling) and Joint Venture activity
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource, Oracle and Corptax
  • Experience with AI, Alteryx, dashboards and/or digital transformations

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
