TMS (Transportation Management System) Lead Analyst
Location: Prefer Kansas City if possible but open to remote
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze transportation data to identify trends and patterns that can be used to optimize the transportation system.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities by finding more efficient routes, negotiating better rates with carriers, or implementing new technologies to streamline the transportation process.
- Manage the company's TMS system, troubleshoot technical issues, and make adjustments to improve system efficiency.
- Collaborate with other internal teams, such as logistics and customer service, to ensure that the transportation system is meeting the needs of the company's customers.
- Develop reports and presentations to communicate transportation-related data and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
- Oversee and mentor a team of transportation analysts, providing guidance and training to ensure that they meet quality standards and contribute to the success of the transportation management system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in transportation management system analysis or a similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and patterns in complex data sets.
- Knowledge of transportation management systems and logistics industry best practices.
- Experience managing a TMS system, troubleshooting technical issues, and making system improvements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and manage a team of transportation analysts.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university or 8 or more years of experience in relevant field.
