Position Summary:
The CNC Set-up operator is responsible for setting-up the CNC machine, manufacturing parts and inspecting manufactured parts.
Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):
- Start CNC machine and perform Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) procedures, adjust as needed.
- Select and install appropriate fixturing for the part to be produced, per posted schedule.
- Perform tool offsets as needed, adjust as required.
- Pull the inspection sheet and blueprint for the part being produced and perform a first piece inspection in accordance with the manufacturing procedures to blueprint required specifications.
- Understand tool offsets to ensure part quality and blueprint specification.
Essential Qualifications / Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 50lbs without assistance, any parts weighing over 50lbs requires a team lift.
- Must have the ability to read measuring instruments, including but not limited to tape measure, height gauge, angle gauges, and calipers to verify parts are within specification.
- Perform material handling functions using forklifts and reach truck. Manual lifting for loading and unloading required (up to 50 lbs.).
- Basic computer skills required to pull blueprints, enter orders, and load CNC programs.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls required.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience:
- CNC technical training.
- Two or more years of verifiable CNC experience.
- CNC Mazak Milling Center experience and Okuma lathe experience.
- Manual lathe and mill experience.
