Position Summary:

The CNC Set-up operator is responsible for setting-up the CNC machine, manufacturing parts and inspecting manufactured parts. 

Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):

  • Start CNC machine and perform Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) procedures, adjust as needed.
  • Select and install appropriate fixturing for the part to be produced, per posted schedule.
  • Perform tool offsets as needed, adjust as required.
  • Pull the inspection sheet and blueprint for the part being produced and perform a first piece inspection in accordance with the manufacturing procedures to blueprint required specifications.
  • Understand tool offsets to ensure part quality and blueprint specification.

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 50lbs without assistance, any parts weighing over 50lbs requires a team lift.
  • Must have the ability to read measuring instruments, including but not limited to tape measure, height gauge, angle gauges, and calipers to verify parts are within specification.
  • Perform material handling functions using forklifts and reach truck. Manual lifting for loading and unloading required (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Basic computer skills required to pull blueprints, enter orders, and load CNC programs.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc controls required.

Preferred Qualifications / Experience:

  • CNC technical training.
  • Two or more years of verifiable CNC experience.
  • CNC Mazak Milling Center experience and Okuma lathe experience.
  • Manual lathe and mill experience.
