Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking monthly owners’ inspections (without Supervision) and Annual BWOF inspections (under Supervision) for building. You will also identify any defects and non-compliance and ensure that the building owner(s) are provided with the opportunity to bring their building up to a safe standard.
This is a great opportunity to undertake study, training courses and NZQA qualification working towards becoming a registered Independent Qualified Person (IQP).
Key responsibilities:
- Provide building inspections and consultancy services as required by clients.
- Conduct Backflow Inspections IAW industry and SGS standards (if required)
- Complete all allocated Monthly Testing within each calendar month
- To be a Team player, assist other BCS Inspectors with Building Compliance BWOF inspections in your region during busy months.
- Actively seek new business.
- Working with the admin team to organise your inspections and ensure inspections are completed on time
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years involvement in the building industry is preferred
- Understanding of NZ building codes and practices
- Holds or has the ability to obtain IQP registration
- Unrestricted New Zealand Driving License
- Knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety in the workplace
- Is able to use computers and related technologies efficiently able to demonstrate initiative, be proactive and implement change if necessary
- Ability to work with others in a team environment
- Flexible, enthusiastic person with a sense of urgency and well developed customer service skills and experience
