What You'll Do

  • Assist the team in implementing a comprehensive risk management framework aligned with the organization’s risk appetite and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with business units to establish key indicators (KRI’s) and metrics to monitor and report. Use quantification techniques for risk analysis where required.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on risk identification, evaluation, and mitigation strategies across the organization.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks that could impact the organization.
  • Build and update risk registers at functional, business unit and strategic levels of the organisation
  • Conduct training and awareness programs for employees on risk management best practices and protocols.
  • Participate in cross-functional risk committees and working groups to enhance risk governance and promote a culture of risk awareness.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership on reputation risk exposure, mitigation efforts, and key risk trends.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and prioritize significant risks within the organization, including financial, operational, compliance, and strategic risks etc. 
  • Liase with the internal controls team to assist in implementing necessary controls and responses to risks identified at operational level. Assess the implications of operational risks at strategic level
  • Assist the Head of Risk ensuring that strategic & operational risks are identified and managed including emerging risk are identified and advise on appropriate risk mitigating controls
  • Liaison among compliance teams and external auditors to ensure risk and compliance matters are highlighted on timely basis and solutions are proposed
  • Assist the Head of Risk on reporting internal and external deliverables
  • Assist Risk Management team in ad-hoc projects or those assigned by Head of Risk

What You'll Need

  • Bachelors or Masters in Actuarial sciences, Economics, Statistics, Finance and Risk Management
  • Member of any professional body of analysts, accountancy or finance
  • FRM / CFA qualified will be preferred
  • Proficiency in any analysis tools (Excel, Google Sheets, SQL, R/Python)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of different risk types, e.g. market risk, operational risk, liquidity risk, product / tech risk, legal risk, reputational risk and regulatory risk
  • Preferably 5+ years of post qualification experience (i.e., internal audit, risk management, or compliance);
  • Sound knowledge of Risk management principles and experience in advisory / consultancy roles or financial institutions. 
  • Strong analytical ability with an understanding of risk impact
  • Ability to effectively prioritize day-to-day responsibilities and longer-term projects in a fast-paced, challenging environment
  • Strong project management, organizational, and collaborative skills to develop and implement solutions
