Job Summary

As part of the Business Solutions team, the Specialist I, Market Intelligence, is responsible for identifying and recommending opportunities in response to evolving customer needs, competitor activities and technology advances in the Business Markets segment; this role works closely with sales channel owners, as well as commercial and operational teams to evaluate opportunities and develop business cases.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead collaborative process to develop robust market intelligence report and product/sales strategy recommendations that reflect thoughtful market sector and competitor analysis, collaboration/coordination with channel managers, customer insights, financial discipline, and creative thinking
• Evaluate potential/emerging product, technology, customer opportunities using third party and internal data
• Understand key drivers, metrics, performance of business markets segment portfolio by industry vertical and product category, and identify important market sector trends and competitor activity 
• Identify product opportunities and sales strategies and provide leadership with recommendations on proposals; prepare business case evaluations, including sensitivity analysis for key assumptions and market scenarios
• Develop presentations and lead regular management discussions; prepare materials and present key insights and recommendations to executives

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

• 5-7+ years of professional work experience, with strong preference for experience with commercial and industrial customer segment
• 3+ years of experience in financial and data analysis, with executive level reporting
• Knowledge and experience with customer facing and project coordination/management methods preferred
• Extensive communications and teamwork skills with internal/external stakeholders
• Strong understanding of financial modeling and analysis
• Solid skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel 
• Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills

• Ability to gain content knowledge quickly and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment
• Timely and accurate delivery and development of market and competitor insights, business case analysis, and recommendations
• Strong oral and written communication skills, good presentation skills, and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work comfortably with all levels of employees, management and leadership
• Ability to work cross functionally and hold other teams accountable for timely and accurate contributions to processes
