Purpose of Role: The CWB Welder is responsible for fabrication of materials, preparation for welding and inspection while ensuring products meet quality standards. The welder will perform their job duties while in compliance with Weir ESCO’s policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabrication, manual overlay using wire, blocky and tig rod
  • Weld preparation including grinding and arcing
  • Read and interpret drawings
  • Finishing work on components using plasma cutter and grinder and visually inspecting finished welds
  • Participation in Lean Events (Process Management, 6S etc.)
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • CWB certification required in flat and horizontal positions for GMAW
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral English
  • Attention to detail, learn quickly, positive attitude and punctual
  • Ability to make independent decisions based on predetermined work flow instructions
  • Overhead crane, jib crane and forklift training is considered an asset
