Hot Food Production - Cook
40 hours per week
10-month position
Shift: 2:30pm-11:00pm Tuesday through Saturday, with Sundays and Mondays OFF
Summary: Under the direction of the Executive Chef, Hot Food Production is responsible for a variety of tasks in relation to creating on trend food options from scratch and cooking short order or batch style service. See job description for a complete list of requirements and responsibilities.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED
Possess a formal culinary education or equivalent experience in high-volume dining environments
Possess math and reading skills
Possess an acute understanding of all food allergens and the ability to exclude them from food options
Experience cooking short order or batch style service
Ability to create on trend food options from scratch while following recipes
Ability to garnish catered dishes
Ability to follow instructions
Ability to function in a high stress environment
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to continuously stand and walk for the duration of an assigned shift
Complete and return all temp, sanitation, production logs to manager at the end of each shift
Clean all work areas and complete prep work 15 minutes prior to end of shift to allow manager or lead cook/crew leader to double check work areas
Maintain clean prep areas, coolers, shelves, and floors in all work areas
Ensure that all food labels are accurate and correct
Inform manager of damaged and unsafe equipment that needs to be repaired or replaced
Address client or student concerns about food
Work catering as deemed necessary for operational needs
