  • This position is eligible for OITS's hybrid work program. The candidate must work in the office three days a week. The supervisor and business needs will determine the hybrid schedule. 

Compensation:

  • Annual Salary/Hourly Rate: $60,000 – 75,000/annual

Note: Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.

Position Summary:

The State of Kansas has consolidated its electronic mail, messaging, and collaboration environment currently into a single tenant using Microsoft’s Office 365 solution. The Kansas Office of Information Technology Services is looking for a Power Platform Engineer that will serve as part of a technical team responsible for operations, and maintenance as well as change management planning and implementation of the statewide cloud-based messaging and collaboration solution. 

This position will be responsible for providing expert technical support for the Power Platform environment within the state-wide cloud-based messaging and collaboration solution. They will communicate with Executive branch agencies daily in a tier three support structure for advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of security and technical issues. This position will also have primary responsibility for developing and managing the guidelines and governance of Power Platform technologies within the State of Kansas Office 365 multi-tenant solution.

Required skills:

  • Manage, administer, and maintain the Power Platform environment within the multi-tenant Statewide Cloud Messaging and Collaboration Solution. 
  • Develop, manage, and maintain the governance and guidelines for Power Platform technologies within the multi-tenant Statewide Cloud Messaging and Collaboration Solution.
  • Internal and external agency support for Power Platform solutions the multi-tenant Statewide Cloud Messaging and Collaboration Solution.
  • Maintain security and privacy of state data and ensure compliance to all appropriate security requirements, including Office 365 Compliance Center.

Assure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations to preserve and produce messaging information for legal and open records purposes.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with 2+ years as a Subject Matter Expert with Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
  • Highly collaborative orientation, with analytical and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively to promote the benefits of the new system to technical and non-technical staff.
  • Must have proven, hands-on, experience in an IT discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform solution design and management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power technology is required.
  • Ability to obtain and retain an OITS and KCJIS Security Clearance is a requirement of initial and continued employment.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform technology available through the Microsoft M365 service.
  • Successful completion of 24 hours in computer science coursework or six months experience in system software programming and analysis. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Necessary Special Requirements: Ability to obtain and retain an OITS Security and KCJIS clearances are requirement of employment and continued employment.
