The Sr Specialist, Organizational Development is responsible for careful diagnosis and design of organizational and leadership development long-range gaps and interventions. This role builds long- range plans towards our leadership development programming and experience across all segments using advanced influence and consultative technique to build out solutions that will meet diverse and conflicting ideas and opinions; and ensures leadership development capability grows consistently and steadily year- over-year across the different levels of leadership in the company.

Responsibilities

  • Define and diagnose exact and specific leadership development strategies and solutions that will enable organizational performance in segments and teams as part of PDS’s leadership and People First philosophies.
  • Design, development, and build influence and infrastructure for high-potential and leadership development through advanced business partnership, collaboration, and influencing techniques.
  • Build long-range partnerships with external suppliers and venders to service changing and custom requirements of our organization and segments; own entire relationship including pricing, negotiation, feedback, and course corrections.
  • Design and maintain governance of operating budget, cost negotiations, cost model, pricing structure, and chargebacks across all cost-centered programs and training.
  • Design comprehensive and creative methods and practices to put the participant at the center of all program design including their experience, follow-up, ongoing touch bases, and learning transfer/application techniques.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Organization Development or related discipline. In lieu of degree, +2 years of experience is required.
  • 6+ years of related experience with 3-5 years of functional experience in an HR/OD.
  • Knowledge of Talent Management, including Organizational Leadership and Development, Succession Planning, Performance Management, Employee Engagement and Retention.
  • Knowledge of HROD Best Practices, including partnership within a Field / Corporate HR model, Competency Based-HR Systems, individual development planning, mentoring and coaching.

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership, Organization Behavior, Industrial / Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, or related discipline is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in an HR/OD leadership role preferred.
  • Operations experience in multi-unit service industry preferred.
  • Facilitation / Operational certification within the HR/OD function is preferred.

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, staff, regulatory agencies, vendors, and other members of the business community.
  • Self-motivated, reliable individual capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Possess the intellectual curiosity to work through ambiguity and have ability to work independently with minimal instruction.
  • Ability to manage change and do extremely well in a fast-paced environment under time constraints.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently, and work effectively with individuals belonging to all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to effectively and succinctly simplify complex data and communicate information to Senior Management. Strong facilitation and communication skills including classroom, online, and small group processes with ability to effectively coach and influence others at similar levels of the organization.
  • Strong project / process / program / people management skills.
  • Understanding of Learning Technology and related technology-enabled learning solutions.
