A career within Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet and manage their tax obligations across unique but ever changing tax specialties. You’ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing indirect taxes, dispute resolution, and global enterprise tax solutions.

Our team helps our clients identify and reduce tax risks, meet compliance obligations, implement tax strategies that complement business and operational objectives, resolve disagreements with tax authorities, and manage tax accounting and reporting issues. You’ll be engaged in projects dealing with International tax, mergers and acquisitions, state and local tax accounting, regulatory processes, tax reporting and strategy.

The role

The successful candidate will:

  • Ensure compliance with accounting and tax laws and reporting requirements of the Clients;
  • Negotiate with tax authorities to resolve tax payment issues and ensure tax filings are submitted within the estimated timelines;
  • Work together with the finance, accounting, and operational teams on compliance requirements and applicable tax criteria;
  • Prepare/Review all types of tax returns as well as track the filing obligations;
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Handle the bookkeeping and monthly analysis of the tax accounts, reconciliations as well as routine tax and accounting-related queries of the Clients;
  • Compiling and presenting managerial reports, tax & accounting budgets of the Clients;

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience as a (tax) accountant or senior (tax) accountant;
  • Good understanding of local tax legislation;
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial data, and analytics;
  • Understanding of IFRS and financial statements;
  • Proven experience in tax reporting;
  • Experience with accounting software (MS Nav is an advantage);
  • Advanced MS Excel skills. Power BI and Alteryx knowledge would be considered as an asset;
  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant;
  • Relevant certification (e.g. ACCA) will be preferred;
  • Consulting experience is an advantage;
  • Fluency in Azerbaijani, and English. Russian language would be considered an asset;
  • Organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
