Job Summary (2-3 sentences describing job purpose): Position for a BCBA on the Exceptional Education Behavior Coaching Team (EEBCT) primarily supporting a quadrant within the district. Responsibilities include building capacity at the school level through training MNPS employees in implementation of evidence-based practices and behavior analytic strategies, providing behavior support through modeling and coaching of strategies to school staff, and conducting functional behavior assessments and/or analysis.

Primary Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesList, in the order of importance or time spent, the essential duties/tasks performed by the position. This is not an exhaustive list and employees may be assigned additional duties by management as required. Job Duty/Resp. 1:

Develops, implements and assists in training MNPS staff on behavior analytic and evidence-based procedures with students, including but not limited to discrete trial training, functional behavior assessments, behavior intervention plans, data collection procedures, naturalistic teaching procedures, contingencies of reinforcement, and discrimination training.

Job Duty/Resp. 2:

Guides psychologists and school teams in conducting FBA’s, preference assessments, individualized assessment procedures and development of behavior intervention plans and fidelity checks.

Job Duty/Resp. 3:

Conducts functional analyses.

Job Duty/Resp. 4:

Coaches and guides school teams through data collection, graphing, analysis, procedural fidelity checks, and troubleshooting of students’ behavior data.

Job Duty/Resp. 5:

Attends district, quadrant, school, and team meetings, as needed; completes action items, as assigned.

Job Duty/Resp. 6:

Reviews and applies most recent peer-reviewed research and evidence-based practices, as applicable.

Job Duty/Resp. 7:

Participates and assists in the development and refining of MNPS procedures and protocols regarding the EEBCT, and creation of related documents.

Job Duty/Resp. 8:

Complies with both MNPS and BACB standards in ethical handling and management of student data, documentation.

Job Duty/Resp. 9:

Maintain good standing and certification through the requirements of the BACB, complete annual renewal of certification, maintain state licensure requirements set by TN Dept of Health, and comply with the BACB’s ethical code of conduct.

Job Duty/Resp. 10:

Provide supervision of RBT’s and interns, as assigned, and in compliance with supervision requirements mandated by the BACB.

Job Duty/Resp. 11:

Participates professionally and respectfully as a member of a multi-disciplinary team at the district and school team level to support policy, systems and individualized plans.

Education and Experience Requirements

Education (training/degree): Required minimum related Master’s Degree or higher

Licenses, Certifications or Registrations Required: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA;TN)

Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience under supervision of a BCBA. Preference given to those with experience working in a school setting giving direct and indirect support.

Skills Required: Evidence of prior experience or related experience in the above-mentioned job responsibilities. Effective communication and collaboration as a multi-disciplinary team member. Experience using Excel, powerpoint and other technology related to staff training and data analysis. Ability to train on behavior analytic topics within small and large group settings.
