The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $92,185 - $115,232.

Job Summary

Performs technical, analytical, and strategic analyses for the development of policy strategies, primarily in support of Avangrid Networks’ transmission businesses in New England and New York. Develops presentation and communication materials and represents the Company before internal and external stakeholders. Represents Company in regional stakeholder processes to advance the interests of the Company and its customers. Provides analytical support and advice to meet other business area objectives. Position may be located in a Networks company office in New England or New York.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs strategic, financial and technical analyses to develop and implement policy strategies in the best interests of our customers and to proactively seek opportunities to support the growth and profitability of Avangrid Networks’ transmission investments.
  • Develops communications and presentation materials for company decision making on complex transmission and regional tariff matters. Produces PowerPoint presentations, Word reports and Excel analyses.
  • Evaluates and summarizes documents for regulatory, policy, strategy, and business implications, including but not limited to Company documents, ISO New England and New York ISO materials, and regulatory filings and orders,
  • Drafts documents for submission to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on matters of importance to the Company.
  • Makes presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinates and participates on cross-functional teams, both internally and externally, to ensure favorable outcomes in policy proceedings and regional stakeholder processes related to transmission and ISO tariffs.
  • Serves as a Company subject matter expert on federal, regional and state initiatives, policies and regulations related to transmission throughout North America, with key focus areas where Avangrid Networks has incumbent transmission businesses.
  • Participates on behalf of the Company in industry groups advancing transmission, including WIRES and EEI committees.
  • Participates in regional stakeholder processes, including representation on stakeholder committees as needed to advance Company interests and coordination of Company stakeholder representation.
  • Support transmission or ISO compliance matters as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, with a strong preference for experience with regulatory processes related to transmission tariffs, compliance, rates, development and interconnections, as well as representation in regional stakeholder processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting Economics, Engineering or another related field
  • A demonstrated track record of interacting across organizations with credibility and integrity
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and judgment dealing with complex business issues
  • Agility, versatility, and flexibility, productive in a multi-tasking and rapidly changing environment
  • Knowledge of electric transmission, accounting, finance, or economics
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of utility accounting and ratemaking principles
  • Past experience and knowledge of FERC regulations for electric and gas utilities preferred.
  • Negotiation/dispute resolution skills
  • Understanding of interrelationships of revenue requirement, rate design and financial performance

Avangrid employees may be assigned a system emergency role and in the event of a system emergency, may be required to work outside of their regular schedule/job duties.
