Veritas’ Worldwide Sales and Marketing team propels company growth by driving all aspects of sales and marketing, including direct and channel sales, global sales enablement and all marketing functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Engineers are pre-sales, trusted technical advisors that work in close partnership with account teams (end-user or channel).
  • Own account or specialized technical strategy, depending upon assignment.
  • Define, analyze, and present solutions to end-user data management problems or technically enable and validate channel partners.
  • Collaborate closely with account teams to technically close deals and achieve new bookings goal, as well as Product Management to ensure solutions align with market/customer needs.
  • Provides technical expertise and technical closure for a specific solution within assigned accounts and/or territories.
  • Maintain product/solution expertise of market trends in aligned technology including detailed understanding of the competition.
  • Provide high level solution design for information security or information management.
  • Be able to present the Veritas technical vision and offering strategy to all levels across the customer internally and externally (e.g. technical or business leads).
  • Maintaining key relationships/contacts within the Sales organization, customers and partners.
  • Develop plan to achieve objectives and new bookings quota.
  • Help customers define their technical problems and architect solutions.
  • Build relationships w/ tech influencers.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or MIS - typically 7+ years of SE.
  • Larger deal technical closure.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining excellent customer relationships with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to map Veritas offerings against customer needs and to identify new opportunities within the territory/customers.
  • Understanding of operational cadence in specific areas. Ensures operating within compliance from a process, legal and revenue recognition.
  • Presents themselves in a professional manner, being a representative of their organization.
  • Comes from an IT background working within a world class software organization covering IT Infrastructure, Datacenter technology.
  • In depth knowledge and/or experience of the industry sector the aligned customers reside in (e.g. Telecommunications, Financial Services, Public Sector).
