Senior Legal Researcher

Position Description

As a Senior Legal Researcher, you will: 

  • Carry out independent research on key legal and policy questions for PCG research studies led by PCG Faculty Director; 
  • Work closely with the PCG Faculty Director on developing and writing up such research studies; 
  • Review and analyze independently existing scholarly work, as well as relevant materials and documents that could provide a basis for such studies; 
  • Identify and review legal materials that could be useful for the Program’s activities; and 
  • Take on other tasks using legal tools as requested by the Faculty Director.

Basic Qualifications

Master’s degree (or alternatively a law degree from the US or abroad) and 5+ years of experience (including in an educational context) in conducting legal research and writing analyses of such research.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for people who have:

  • Authored or co-authored substantial articles of legal research; 
  • Substantial experience working with law school professors and/or high-level judges on substantial legal analyses; 
  • Strong command of the away of tools used in legal and legal policy research; 
  • Strong analytical abilities for carrying out such research; and 
  • Substantial experience in legal and policy writing.

Additional Information

This is a term appointment currently expected to extend through 6/30/25, with potential for renewal subject to funding and departmental need.
