Responsibilities:

  • Direct/Support technicians, specialist, and contractors as required.
  • Complete preventive/predictive maintenance work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work with production personnel to accurately diagnose, troubleshoot, and correct problems.
  • After hour response to emergency/breakdowns.
  • Installation of new/repaired equipment.
  • Provide support as needed/requested from other maintenance personnel and departments.
  • Position is defined as mechanical technician and employee must demonstrate proficiency in all areas such as mechanical maintenance/repair.

Schedule:

The schedule is a 12 hour shifts that rotates between days and nights as follows:

4 days, 7 off, 4 nights, 3 off, 3 days, 1 off, 3 nights, 3 off

The schedule is a four-week repeating schedule.

The shifts are 6:50 am – 6:50 pm and 6:50 pm – 6:50 am.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Must have satisfactorily completed at least one mechanical course and one maintenance training course on pneumatic, hydraulics, HVAC, steam or heat transfer systems and mechanical drive systems.

Required experience:

Five (5) years of satisfactory on-the-job experience in the maintenance field or equivalent technical training course work.

Required license or certification:

Forklift Certified

Required education:

High school or equivalent

Preferred 2 year mechanical certification/degree

Must score a minimum of 55% on technical knowledge test.

Must demonstrate:

(1) knowledge of basic electrical fundamentals and general knowledge of mechanics

(2) how to use a multimeter to test

(3) ability to read blueprints

(4) basic knowledge of temperature and pressure control elements

(5) basic knowledge of medium and low voltage power distribution systems

(6) basic knowledge of HVAC systems and the NEC

(7) thorough knowledge of entire plant and all equipment in it or ability to learn

(8) ability to trouble shoot and correct problems associated with items listed above, and be able to demonstrate this knowledge

(9) continued development of abilities to analyze problems and determine correct solutions and

(10) ability to determine material and equipment necessary to perform minor modifications to equipment and installation of additional equipment conforming to applicable codes.
