Essential Duties:

The Director of HSEQ, Energy Services is ultimately responsible for the leadership, oversight and manager of the global HSE Organization. This position will report directly to the Sr. Vice President of Energy Services and will have a direct line reporting relationship with all Regional HSEQ managers, including those in Brazil, Argentina, Europe and Middle East.

Tactically, the Director of HSEQ will manage the entry of all incidents and related HSE statistics and information in the system along with the reporting of said metrics to the Executive Management team, Operations and regulatory bodies as required. Through daily interactions with their Regional HSEQ managers and Operations they will identify key themes and trends through data analytics and integration which can be actioned to drive improved HSEQ performance.

The Director of HSEQ will help foster a culture of Operational and Service Excellence through continuous improvement efforts and initiatives. This will include an unrelenting drive to ensure we have adequate and appropriate processes, procedures, policies, standards and tools in place to achieve the desired results.

  • Leads the global HSE organization for Energy Services (ES) including direct line reporting of all Regional HSEQ managers
  • Responsible for managing and reporting out on all key performance indicators (leading and lagging) for HSEQ
  • Drives a culture of continuous improvement through thorough post incident investigations and systematically tracking and trending incidents to identify key trends and themes to target for improvement
  • Leverage automation to improve reporting timeliness and accuracy and support data analytics
  • Works closely with Sr. VP of Energy Services and Operations to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Plays an active role in HAZOPS assessments to drive improvements in safety performance
  • Ownership of the HSEQ Management System
  • Works closely with the business and operations to continuously assess and anticipate changing needs and activity levels to ensure alignment of the HSEQ team and their ability to support the business
  • Leverages process, procedures, policy and standards to drive repeatability and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintains a deep understanding of the business, day to day operations, short and long-term plans, and customers to identify and drive best in class safety programs and processes
  • Attends leadership and business meetings and reports on out timely on monthly statistics
  • Reports and utilizes data to track trends and proactively make recommendations to implement and address areas of concern
  • Sponsors and leads improvement initiatives as necessary
  • Works with engineering and operations to develop customer improvement plans as needed
  • Continually maintains an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge, and preparedness across the Company to create a culture that prioritizes effective HSEQ
  • Periodically reviews existing HSEQ policies and practices of the Company to ensure they are current and appropriate and adds to, implements or amends as necessary
  • Serves as the company expert within the field of HSEQ when called upon to address regulatory agency compliance issues, third party safety & liability consultants and subcontractor representatives
  • Stays abreast of all pertinent and relevant industry reporting standards and requirements to ensure organization adherence along with timely and accurate reporting of said information.
  • Works closely with the Operations Managers to ensure HSE Management System compliance and suggests safe work practices as part of training
  • Documents all unplanned events, safety violations or unsafe conditions/activities; ensures corrective measured are immediately implemented; follows through to ensure corrections have been made
  • Assists in investigation of all incidents and ensures proper records are completed and submitted. Assists in implementation of corrective actions as it relates to the incident and ensure "lessons learned" are communicated throughout the Company and are incorporated in policy/procedure, if necessary
  • Devises, supervises, and coordinates training programs or media which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote HSEQ consciousness
  • Actively participates in the scheduling of safety leadership team meetings across Company locations to review HSEQ performance and policies
  • Stays abreast of current and emerging technical and professional aspects of this position
  • Conducts and documents site visits and audits, ensures corrective actions are tracked to completion
  • Creates a company culture which holds safety as a top priority at all levels
  • Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of systems and procedures, identifying and assisting implementing improvements
  • Liaise with Customers and Supply Chain, regarding QHSE matters, ensuring their expectations are met

Requirements:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safely or related field
  • EXPERIENCE: 15+ years’ (5+ leading) experience
  • TRAVEL: 30%
