Job summary

The Control Surfaces team is looking for a software engineer to work on our award winning S1, Dock, S6 and other audio control surfaces for use with Pro Tools and other DAWs.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features for Avid audio control surfaces.
• Add control surface features to Pro Tools.
• Collaborate with other Avid engineering teams world-wide to build tightly integrated and performant surfaces that can handle a wide variety of audio applications
• Work effectively in a multi-tasking and highly dynamic environment with people based in Montreal, California, and other parts of North America and Europe

Minimum requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree
• 5+ years of SW development experience
• Expertise in C++ object-oriented design and programming
• Experience writing multi-threaded, distributed code
• Strong English language communication skills, written and verbal
• Self-Starter with the ability to work independently and with distributed teams

Skills

• Experience in the following areas:
• Developing audio applications with real-time constraints
• C++ development with XCode and/or Visual Studio
• IP network coding
• Embedded C/C++ development on Linux
• git version control
• Agile Development
• Interest in music or audio production
• Familiarity with Pro Tools and/or other Digital Audio Workstations
